Sandstone Taralga and the scattered farming country north of it, out towards Wombeyan Caves and the Abercrombie. These are long, quiet approaches on country roads before the Hume begins, so we leave earlier from here than the map suggests.

Taralga is the anchor — a heritage sandstone streetscape on the road between Goulburn and Oberon, with the Orchard Street shops, the Taralga Hotel, St Luke's and the historical museum. Beyond it the region thins out fast into grazing properties and small localities: Golspie, Myrtleville, Richlands, Curraweela, Yalbraith, Stonequarry, Bannaby, Fullerton, Merrill, Hadley, Glenerin, Wiarborough.
Wombeyan Caves sits at the north-eastern edge, reached by the unsealed Wombeyan Caves Road. It is the one locality here most people outside the district have heard of, and the drive to it is a genuine consideration rather than a formality.
The Hume leg is the same as everyone else's. What is different is the front half: forty minutes or more of the Taralga Road before you reach Goulburn and the interchange. That road is quiet, which is good, but it is also single carriageway with wildlife about at dawn.
So we build the country leg in properly rather than treating it as an afterthought. A 6am international departure means leaving Taralga around 12:05am — earlier than Goulburn despite being fewer kilometres from the Hume than some places that leave later.
Mostly rural. Property gates off the Taralga, Richlands and Wombeyan Caves roads, often unsealed, frequently unlit. There is no surcharge for gravel and no argument about whether the driver should have come down the drive.
What helps is a landmark. A property name, a gate colour, a mailbox, "second gate past the cattle grid". At one in the morning that is worth more than a street number, and a light left on at the gate is worth more again.
Down the Taralga Road into Goulburn, then north on the Hume Highway and the M5.
One way to Sydney Airport, set by the passengers you book rather than per person. Each name links to that locality's own page with the full one-to-eleven table.

We service the whole Southern Tablelands. If your town sits on the boundary, try the regions either side — or just ring and we will tell you the fare.
$469 one way for one or two passengers, rising with the seat count. Every locality in Taralga & Northern Villages has its own published fare in the table above.
Around 12:05 AM from Taralga. That allows the drive plus the two-hour international check-in window. Outer localities in this region leave earlier again, and your confirmed time comes with the booking.
The price is set by the passengers you book. The four-seat column is what four people pay between them, not each — which is why group travel from out here usually beats the train.
Routinely, and at no extra charge for unsealed roads or long driveways. Give us the property name, the road surface and a landmark we can pick out in the dark.
No. Nothing is charged when you book and we do not hold card details. You pay the driver after drop-off by card, cash or PayID.
Yes to both, and both are published: Western Sydney Airport is $30 under the Sydney Airport fare for one or two passengers, and both cruise terminals are about $40 over it.
No deposit. Fixed fare published for your town. Pickup time worked backwards from your flight.
